Third, a game needs to be easy to navigate, you don’t want to offer too many choices early on in a game if ever and that means that there needs to be an easily followed story that compels a player early on. You don’t have to program for a  preschooler but do not forget that people are playing games as entertainment, and overly complex and hard to follow games are usually tossed in the trash.

Fourth, you need action, action and more action. In fact, the more action in a game the more interested players will be. But that doesn’t mean that you want repetitive and brainless action that leaves players wondering what the hell video game company was smoking when they designed the game. A good video game needs action that fits within the story, that is, action that makes sense. The more action in a video game, the more a player needs to be involved and therefore the more appealing it will be.

Fifth, plenty of eye candy. Video game enthusiasts will not settle for grainy ill conceived graphics, we anticipate much more refined and smartly designed characters and landscapes. That doesn’t mean that the graphics should be a distraction in the game, on the contrary, the graphics need to be seamless, and enticing.
